The Washtenaw County Worker Center (WCWC) is a Michigan-based 501c(3) non-profit organization. Our work benefits some of the most economically (and, in some cases, politically) disenfranchised people in our community: low-wage and immigrant service workers.
Many of our members earn at or below minimum wage, few have benefits, and in the worst cases, they experience a host of workplace abuses including nonpayment of wages and having to work while sick or injured. While some organizations provide services to this population, the WCWC is the only organization in our county that tries to change the labor market and workplace conditions that make these workers so reliant on such services.
As indicated in the FAQs, worker centers generally operate with very small budgets because they do not have access to the kinds of dues deductions that unions achieve through collective agreements. The WCWC is no exception.
At one level, of course, this is a problem. But it also means that every dollar counts, and that you can make a real difference even with a modest donation! It means, too, that we have always had to be very frugal with our funds, and you can be assured that we will get a lot of organizing “bang” for every buck you give us!
If you prefer to give by using a credit card and PayPal, you can donate from this web page! If you would rather send a check, just print out this page, cut out the section below and send it, with your check, to the following address:
